Lionsgate 'Expecting' feature adaptation
Studio acquires rights to bestseller from Phoenix Pictures

BERLIN -- The Berlin Film Festival continues to show its support for beleaguered helmer Roman Polanski.
Lionsgate is coming on board "What To Expect When You're Expecting," acquiring feature rights to Heidi Murkoff's bestseller from Phoenix Pictures and signing Heather Hach to adapt it as a romantic comedy.
Hach, who's credits include "Freaky Friday" and "Legally Blonde: The Musical," is nine months pregnant. She's currently writing the screenplay based on her novel "Freaky Monday" for CBS Films.
Phoenix's David Thwaites will produce alongside the company's Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messer. Phoenix's Doug McKay will co-produce and Heidi and Erik Murkoff will exec produce alongside Murkoff's literary rep Alan Nevins of Renaissance Management, who brokered the deal with Phoenix.

Thesp would join co-stars Portman, Kunis

  Winona Ryder is in talks to co-star in Darren Aronofsky's supernatural thriller "Black Swan" opposite Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
Fox Searchlight is in talks to co-finance the film and distribute domestically. Cross Creek Pictures is already on board to co-finance. Cross Creek's Brian Oliver is producing alongside Scott Franklin of Protozoa. Arnold Messer and Mike Medavoy of Phoenix Pictures are also producing.
Overnight Prods.' Rick Schwartz is an equity investor in the film and also a producer.
